Blowing New Life

Hello,

It’s been a few years since I’ve written anything on this blog. Life gets in the way, you know how it is. At the time I quit, in 2018, I was in my most difficult year of Japanese Studies, and I was way too busy to continue my Egypt travel log – a decision I still regret to this day.

Now, however, I decided to pick up this blog again, as a preparation to my future plans. I’m currently using the global pandemic as a chance to get some extra degrees. I graduated as a bachelor in Japanese Studies with a postgradute in Korean Studies in the summer of last year, and I decided to go for my master’s degree in Cultural Studies. Alongside that, I’m also studying a self-taught course in being a travel guide. My dream is to travel all around the world, seeing and living different cultures and histories, and as a travel guide I believe I can make this dream come true. Truthfully, I have my exam in less than 2 weeks, and I hope it goes well. I’ll definitely write a post when I get my results – hopefully with good news.

As a preparation to when we can all travel globally again, I wanted to restart this blog. I will not continue the Egypt series however – 3 years is too long to remember all the fun little details, sadly – but I will primarily focus on plans and dreams for now. I will write about where I want to go, what I want to do, interspersed with interesting historical, cultural, or linguistic stories.

For now, I will leave it here. I hope you can already enjoy what’s on this website, and I really hope to see you soon!

ただいま (I’m back)
Dieter
